Aruba Holiday Deals

It’s smiles all round on beautiful, laid-back Aruba, known as the Caribbean’s ‘Happy Island’. And no wonder everyone’s so cheerful. First there’s the weather that Aruba holiday deals deliver: more sunny days than any other Caribbean island, with temperatures averaging 28-32 ⁰C, cooling trade winds, and no rainy season to speak of. And then there are the beaches – mile upon mile of silken white sands lapped by cerulean-blue waters, and a vibe for everyone from couples to families.

The south and west of the island are fringed by drop-dead-gorgeous beaches studded with the island’s trademark divi-divi trees and offering perfect swimming, snorkelling and watersports. Palm Beach is the liveliest stretch, ideal for skimming the waves on a jet ski or relaxing in a bar with your feet in the sand, while Eagle Beach, a turtle-nesting site, has beauty in spades. Other stretches are wilder, whipped by the wind, and best for exploring in solitude.

Inland Aruba has lots to offer too and Arikok National Park, with its desert landscape of towering cacti, bizarre rock formations, deserted gold mines and shadowy caves, is a must-see. You can hike in the Park, drinking in the breathtaking views and spotting hummingbirds, parakeets and lizards as you go, or take it easier with a guided tour, a ride on horseback, or a trip in an off-road jeep.

Plus there are towns to discover, especially Oranjestad with its picture-postcard Dutch colonial buildings in pretty shades of pastel, and boutique shops selling Dutch porcelain, jewellery and locally made aloe vera products. And if it’s nightlife you want, then you can sip cocktails in a beach bar, head to a club, or join one of the party buses that hops between the local hot-spots. There are even eleven casinos on the island – making Aruba holidays a safe bet for a never-to-be-forgotten holiday.

Hike through Arubas Rugged Interior

Hike through Aruba's rugged interior

Aruba's rugged interior is home to some breathtaking natural wonders. Hiking to the top of the Casibari Rock Formation, with its weirdly-weathered boulders, reveals panoramic views across the island to Oranjestad. In the Quadiriki and Fontein caves you can wander through dark tunnels and strangely illuminated chambers to view ancient rock paintings and friendly bats.

Explore Aruba's Underwater world

Explore Aruba's Underwater world

Snorkelling in Aruba's crystal-clear warm waters reveals a mesmerising mix of multi-coloured tropical fish, waving coral and giant tube sponges. There's good diving, too, with plenty of submerged wrecks to explore - including the Antilla, known locally as the 'ghost ship', a German freighter scuttled in 1945, now flourishing with coral formations and curious fish.

Party Time at the Carubbian Festival

Party Time at the Carubbian Festival

Every Thursday evening, San Nicolas plays host to the Carubbian Festival with a carnival procession, music, dancing, and a host stalls selling local favourites goat curry, salt fish and coconut drops. Other excuses to party on Aruba come in March with the Grand Carnival Parade, in May with the Soul Beach Music Festival and in August with the Rembrandt Regatta.

Birdwatching at the Bubali Bird Sanctuary

Birdwatching at the Bubali Bird Sanctuary

Bubali Bird Sanctuary is an official nature reserve formed by a fresh water lagoon. Although close to many high-rise hotels, it is nevertheless an important nesting site for many bird species. A tower located at the edge of the cattail marsh offers a vantage point for bird watching, especially exciting during the Autumn migration when the birds fly to the south.
